Wayne Allwine, Voice of Mickey Mouse, Dies

Both the voice over community and Disney fans everywhere mourn the loss of Wayne Allwine, the voice of Mickey Mouse for over 30 years. He was the third person to breathe life into Mickey Mouse, the first being Walt Disney.  Mr. Allwine, who was also an award-winning sound effects editor, is a unique part of voiceover history not only because of his long run voicing Mickey Mouse, but also because of his marriage to veteran voice talent, Russi Taylor, who has provided the voice of Minnie Mouse since 1986.

We offer our sincere condolenses to Russi Taylor and Mr. Allwine’s children Erin, Alison, Peter, Christopher and Joshua, his grandson, Isaac, family and friends. There are few voice actors alive today who weren’t inspired by the great voices that inhabit Disney’s icons.
