We are all feeling the effects of the current economy. It has tightened budgets just about everywhere — particularly advertising dollars from which voice over artists make a living. As such, voice over artists, like other consumers, are finding they need to cut back on expenses or better justify the expenses they have. With that in mind SaVoa’s Board of Directors and Advisers decided to develop their own stimulus plan, however modest, for the benefit of accredited voice over artists. Here is the plan:

• Current members holding a two-year accreditation certificate will have their accreditation automatically extended for another two years at no additional cost. Over the next several days, SaVoa will issue new four-year accreditation certificates¹ to current holders of the two-year certificates bearing the holder’s original accreditation date.
• New members who apply by September 23, 2009 (SaVoa’s second anniversary) will receive four-year accreditation for the same $75.00 application fee. New members may notice they are already receiving the special issue four-year accreditation certificates.
• This is a limited extension due to the current economy and is not a policy change with respect to SaVoa’s two-year accreditation program. As such, applications received after September 23, 2009, will be for the original two-year accreditation period.

SaVoa is indebted to all its members and we hope this modest plan in the form of a limited extension of the accreditation period will minimize some of the economic hardships our members may encounter.
