Welcome Letter to New SaVoa Members

I just wanted to say hello and welcome you to SaVoa. You and the other members who have gone through peer review thus far are to be congratulated for your desire to show the voice over marketplace that VO artists can and will take responsibility for their professional standards.

Every organization like SaVoa has to start somewhere. I personally think our beginning has been strong and see a promising future for SaVoa and its member artists. I firmly believe we will be a substantial force in this broad and diverse industry.

I and the remaining board members strongly believe in our peer-based accreditation program. We are also bolstered in our efforts by every program in the world that manages, despite the pitfalls of perceived subjectivity, to award degrees, certificates and special placements to people in all facets of the performing arts, not just voice over. But, voice over is unique in its strong dependence on audio technology knowhow. As such, we were more easily able to develop a system that included objective elements in addition to the safeguards we implemented for the more subjective ones.

Thanks to our new members now serving as peers, we continue to work diligently to accredit well qualified artists like yourselves to build a stronger base and presence. Already we are seeing interest from business members in the VO marketplace, who are taking note of our new organization. In the meantime, we are also working to develop relationships with vendors willing to provide discount goods and services to our members as a value added. We are also developing programs we expect to launch in the coming months to support and further both education for voice over artists and also public awareness about the voice over industry.

Our efforts are possible thanks only to your trust and support of our fledgling accreditation program. We cannot thank you enough for your participation.

Most humbly yours,

Ed Gambill, President
SaVoa

Thanks Ed!

I’m honored to join this choir of respected professionals! I was very pleased when SaVoa was formed earlier this year and even more excited being notified of my accreditation today! Having been in the voice business almost 30 years, I realized that technical skill was a huge component of being a successful voice artist in this new era of digitally delivered voice content.

Thank you to all the members for setting these reasonable standards and creating a professional organization dedicated to adhering to them, promoting them and creating systems and programs to educate others on how to achieve them.

I really look forward to my membership in SaVoa, and to participating with those of you I know, and to meeting and sharing with those I hope to meet in the near future! This is a unique brother and sisterhood.

Thank you all so much for the opportunity to join you in this endeavor!

Warm regards from chilly Buffalo, NY.
