Advisory Board Nominations: Deadline June 15, 2009

SaVoa is pleased to announce it is NOW ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2009 SAVOA BOARD OF ADVISORS. Details are provided on the Nomination form available for download.

A list of nominees will be provided to the entire membership for voting. Election ballots will be prepared and sent out after nominations close. All election ballots must be submitted by July 15, 2009.

The SaVoa Board of Advisers is a new concept established in 2009 by resolution of the Executive Board of Directors of SaVoa Incorporated. The main purpose of the advisory board is to advise the executive board. Because the advisory board is not responsible for the day-to-day duties of running the accreditation program and handling the business aspects of the non-profit corporation, it is free to focus solely on improving the accreditation program and implementing  SaVoa’s commitment to supporting education for voiceovers.

The current members of the SaVoa Board of Advisers are Erik Sheppard, Nikki Saco, Scott Pollak, Robert Jadah and Thom Wilkins (the chair).  Their first recommendation was SaVoa’s Stimulus Plan, which the executive board readily adopted.

Their second recommendation was that they be replaced by an advisory board duly elected by the members of SaVoa.

We look forward to your submissions and to the ultimate election of SaVoa’s new advisory board.

Election of a new Board of Advisors seems to be a very progressive step in bringing in new ideas and talent. May I hasten to say “Thanks” to each of those presently serving. You “guys” having been doing a great job and I’m sure the membership is just as appreciative as I am.
